How We Do Our Work

United Way brings those within our local communities together to help improve quality of life for our residents. We do this by:
- raising funds locally through employee campaigns within companies, corporate/small business donations, individual giving, support from local civic organizations, our annual fundraiser (Spirit 5k), and sponsorships.
- awarding grants to local health and human service programs that apply annually for funding that aligns with our priority areas.
- identifying needs within our local communities and investing in specific programs and/or local initiatives that positively impact individuals.
- organizing volunteer efforts to assist our local programs or to address a particular community need.
- taking part in a variety of local coalitions and committees to address important issues such as substance use, youth mental health, youth violence, and aging. Sometimes we are providing the leadership and convening the partnerships, and sometimes we are a strong partner in helping to find solutions.
Tri-County Kentucky United Way is seen as a valuable resource to our community partners, our funded programs, individuals, and local businesses and companies. We strive to ensure that everyone has the resources, supports, opportunities, and networks they need to thrive.
